ABOUT Jacob

Jacob Victorine is a Chicago-based fashion designer, teacher, writer, natural dyer, multi-disciplinary artist, and co-founder of the responsibly made, gender-neutral clothing brand ALL WE REMEMBER. Born and raised in New York City, he earned an AAS in Menswear Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2007, a BA in English Literature from Brooklyn College in 2009, and an MFA in Creative Writing-Poetry from Columbia College Chicago in 2013, where he is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Fashion. Much of Jacob’s artistic and pedagogical work engages with poetic techniques, the framework of sustainability, and the intersection of functionality and beauty.

He has published poems in places such as Columbia Poetry Review, Vinyl Poetry, Matter, DIALOGIST, Phantom Books, and PANK, and essays, reviews, and interviews in places such as Monocle, GRAILED's "Dry Clean Only,” Publishers Weekly, Poets' Quarterly, and Muzzle Magazine. His first book, FLAMMABLE MATTER, was published by Elixir Press in 2016. His second manuscript, Dear Anne, Dear Sarah, Dear Melita was a semifinalist for the 2016 Fordham University Press POL Prizes.
